I am a qualified, registered member of the British association of counselling and psychotherapy, on the professional standards authority register. (Registration No: 097050) (MBACP) and hold a Certificate of Proficiency awarded - BACP (Accredited Register Professional Standards Authority).

I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB), certificate in counselling studies (CPCAB), certificate in counselling skills (CPCAB). Certificate in BRIEF Solution Focus Therapy, certificate in Talking & Drawing, Child protection safeguarding certificate (Level 3), enhanced DBS certificate and an advanced Diploma in Life coaching (ACCHP). I have undertaken additional specialist training in Depression, Anxiety, Relationships, Childhood trauma and Substance misuse.  I hold a professional, personal and civil indemnity insurance and abide by the practice according to the ethical and good practice guidance of the BACP.

I am an integrative counsellor. This means I draw upon various counselling and psychotherapy approaches such as Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Solution focused and CBT to suit individual clients. I offer individual counselling and psychotherapy, both short and long term. I see individual clients providing a safe, comfortable and confidential environment in which to build a relationship off trust and openness.

My Experience:

I have over twelve years’ experience of working with individuals within a variety of settings including NHS, corporate, voluntary, education and the private sector. I work with a diverse range of people experiencing different life challenges.

In my private practice I currently work predominantly with issues around relationships, depression, anxiety, loneliness and isolation, self-esteem, intimacy, body image and eating disorders, addiction, stress and burn-out and a more general unease around existence.

Through the COVID-19 response to date, as well as working in private practice I also provide a counselling service for Greenwich Health. I have the privilege of working with GP’s, nurses, pharmacist and admin staff, covering issues such as burnout, bereavement, loss, health, anxiety, trauma, depression, stress management, transition and maintaining routine. (2020 - present)

When working as a counsellor for a Greenwich charity I provided counselling to individual adults covering issues such as depression, anxiety, child hood trauma, relationship issues, stress management, eating disorders, anger and substances misuse. (2017-2019)

In my role as a counsellor in a South London secondary school I set up a counselling service for parents, where I worked with relationships, stress, burn-out and how to manage and find a work-life balance. In addition I provide counselling and life coaching for student’s age 11 – 18, using the CBT approach in helping them to remove the barriers that stop individuals making changes, reaching their goals and achieving a more balanced life.

When working as a counsellor for a Battersea substance misuse service I had the privilege of working with adults suffering from severe mental health concerns, including Schizophrenia and Personality disorders. (2010 -2012)

As a counsellor in Borough I worked with individual’s age 11-25 years of age with a variety of presenting issues, ranging from anxiety, depression, sexuality, bereavement and loss, suicide ideation, eating/body image, abuse, drugs and alcohol issues to social isolation, low self-esteem and a lack of sense of meaning (2009 – 2011)

My background is in education where I spent 8 years in a secondary school, working as a Deputy/Head of House and previous to this I spent three years in finance.

I feel very privilege to work in this field for many reasons. One being that having been through the counselling process myself, I know what it’s like to feel vulnerable in the room with a counsellor and how having that safe space each week helped me to explore issues I did not realise were issues. Counselling took me on a journey to a place of exploration, awareness, self - discovery, peace and change. Counselling was a totally life changing experience for me. My aim is to provide my clients with the same life changing experience.
